From Signals to Decisions: Scaling AI in Finance from Language Models to Market Behavior
Abstract
This seminar examined how artificial intelligence and large language models are reshaping quantitative finance, from language-based signal…
extraction to AI-assisted decision making. The talk discussed applications in financial sentiment analysis, multi-agent trading systems, portfolio construction, market microstructure, and foundation models for financial time series. It also addressed central challenges in deploying financial AI systems, including uncertainty, hallucinations, look-ahead bias, survivorship bias, evaluation design, and the gap between predictive accuracy and trading profitability. Particular emphasis was placed on how financial AI can move from generating signals to supporting robust, interpretable, and economically meaningful decisions.
